Bomb Farm Gear and Ritual
Reveal sealed drops, upgrade toward +15, and fuse duplicates for stars.
Ritual is Bomb Farm’s workshop. Official store copy says equipment and epic drops are your source of power: you reveal sealed drops, upgrade items from +0 to +15, collect stars by fusing duplicates, and chase the perfect attribute. The tab name is Ritual, not Forge, because the same room also hosts an altar, a blacksmith, and later a capsule that eats gems and gold.
If you are still on the first Easy tiles of Dawn Quarry, read Getting Started and come back. Ritual will eat every resource you own if you open it bored.
The three faces of Ritual
Launch screenshots show at least three Ritual layouts behind the same tab:
- A blacksmith at an anvil, with a row of red-bordered pieces already at +10: flasks, helm, chest, pants, boots, rings, necklace. This is the upgrade bench.
- A dark altar chamber with potions and green-bordered crafts on pedestals. This is where sealed or ritualized items sit before they become kit.
- A hero capsule with star markers, a gem row at +4, and a gold price (screenshots show 250k on that action). This is closer to starring or awakening a body than to slotting a boot.
You click the small room icons along the top of Ritual to swap those faces. The controls page is only about how to click; this page is about what is worth clicking.
+0 to +15, without fairy tales
The + number is a forge rank, not a rarity. A +10 Uncommon boot can still be worse than a +2 Rare boot with the attribute you need. Official copy tells you to chase the perfect attribute, which means the suffix or implicit matters more than the integer once you are past the first few ranks.
A practical rule:
- +0 to +4 on anything the active squad wears.
- +5 to +10 only on the pieces that survive a fusion decision.
- +11 to +15 is a late Map project, not a Dawn Quarry project. Inferno achievements exist; they are not a license to slam every flask to +15 on day two.
If an upgrade can brick or consume the item, stop and read the client warning twice. We will not invent fail rates.
Sealed drops
Sealed drops are unidentified loot. Reveal them in Ritual, not in the heat of a Battle popup. Reveal when you have bag space and a plan. If the reveal is a duplicate, that is fuel for stars, not trash by default. If the reveal is a role you do not play, it may still be a Market listing — after you confirm you cannot use it on squad B or C.
Stars and fusion
Stars come from fusing duplicates. Fusion is also how testers described combining heroes into higher rarities. Those two sentences can live in the same tab without being the same button. Hero fusion, rarity, and why you should not eat your only Collector are on fusion. Item stars stay here: they are a quality layer on gear, not a new character.
Do not fuse your last copy of a piece you still wear. Do not fuse a Market candidate until you have checked prices. Do not fuse because the animation looks good.
Attributes worth chasing
Until Stream On publishes a full affix list, chase the attributes that match the role:
- Attackers want damage, crit, or bomb radius if those words appear.
- Collectors want loot, gold, or vacuum range.
- Supports want sustain or team auras.
- Specialists want whatever their tooltip already does, doubled.
Role pages: hero roles. If an affix is pretty but off-role, it is a Market object or a banked star, not an equipped piece.
Ritual versus the skill tree versus House
Gold in screenshots already prints with dots in the billions. That does not mean Ritual is free. House recovery and hero slots are the other greedy buildings. The skill tree is the third. Pay in this order when you are unsure:
- House if a squad cannot rest.
- Ritual if the dock is wearing +0 while Battle is stalling.
- Tree if a node is a lock, not a percentage.
The How to Play loop is the parent of all three sinks.
Fair-by-nature reminder
Official copy: free to play, no loot boxes, they do not sell power. Ritual is the intended grind. If a shop ever injects +15 tickets, that is a policy change and belongs in updates. Until then, treat every hammer strike as earned ore.
When a piece hits a star level you are proud of, screenshot it. Season talk is already in the marketing bio. You will want a record if a reset lands. The seasons page tracks that question.
Gear does not replace a missing role. If the dock is four Attackers, no necklace will make them Collectors. Fix the squad first, then return to the anvil.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Where do I upgrade Bomb Farm equipment?
Open the Ritual tab. The blacksmith face upgrades pieces from +0 toward +15. Altar and capsule faces handle sealed drops and stars.
Should I upgrade every drop to +15?
No. Push equipped pieces first. +11 to +15 is late Map work. See progression.
What are sealed drops?
Unidentified loot you reveal in Ritual. Duplicates feed stars; off-role rares can go to the Steam Market.
Is hero fusion the same as item stars?
They can share Ritual, but hero rarity is covered in fusion. Do not eat your only Collector.
